Ha Ha FreddieDarling,,
Please forgive me for forgetting who made that captivating doll. And as I said...the outfit you made for your doll IS my absolute FAVORITE (or should I say FAVOURITE) of all of Freddie's outfits.

Well, Freddie never had a reason to tell me what his blood type was...LOL..maybe only Mary knows for sure.
He seems to be an O negative to me ...the Universal donor type. That would surely fit his personality!

Also Freddiedarling,

I could never donate blood because I had hepatitis B in 1974. BUT, I was able to donate my blood for the early work on development of the Hepatitis B vaccine. I'm pretty proud of that!

Sweetandtenderhooligan,

I said the same thing a a few pages back regarding Freddie and aging. He had magnificent bone structure and beautiful skin and was getting more handsome as he got older. Peter Freestone mentioned that when he died, Freddie still did not have a single grey hair, even though his hair was thinning a bit. He was aging beautifully before his illness.

Thor and Lee did either of you go to a bookstore, find a similar book to what you want to make and see who published it? I’m still backing whatever you do, if it takes so long for publishers to get back then we’ll just have to wait.

As a matter of fact, when I had first heard of her a few years back.....i immediately was intrigued when I learned how she came by her name!! I can soooo picture in my mind....Lady Gaga and Freddie doing a collaboration or two Together!!!! Am I the only one to imagine this?????

It looks like my long post yesterday was eaten by the bot. GRRRR

Anyway, I will catch up, and Thor and Lee I hope you can get that book out! We will chip in!

I have been a fan of Queen since 10 years old with their first hits. So they were around even after I finished college.

I have never really paid attention to FM's teeth. I had a pic of him taped to my wall along with some other Teen Beat idols. I had to get it out of a magazine and I cut the rest of the band out! (I was just a kid lol)

As an adult, I appreciate the physical variations we all have. I am no dentist or ear, nose and throat specialist, but he may have had to have his jaw broken and reset or something along with dental work. I have a friend with the same issue and that's what she was told. She left it alone, too.

I believe that if FM didn't have such a wide mouth, he would never have been able to project so far, it almost seems like in a stadium he didn't even need the mic. Who else could sing over BM's ear-splitting guitar and still be heard loud and clear?

I maintain that this was the most talented, handsome and sexy man neck and neck with Prince, IMO. Clearly Prince didn't want to be 5'2'' either!

SimonaFromItaly...

Your English is perfect!

In regards to looking at old photos: I think many of us have experienced seeing pictures from an earlier time in our lives and wondered where all the years had gone to... or we were struck by how much we had changed. As for me...I see younger photos and think, "I really should have worn sunscreen!" LOL

But like Thor said, "how precious and lucky" we are to be here right now. Thor, any special plans for your birthday?

That's awesome you could donate your blood for that research. They now have a cure for hepatitis c never thought that would happen.I hope some day they will have a cure for my disease it is very rare 2 in 100 thousand people get it so the only treatment is ivig therapy which is time consuming.

Hey Thor,

as Larry Kramer said: "AIDS is intentional genocide!"

Activists not only attacked politiciancs, but also the FDA and NIH for their indifference and greed.
With "contact" i meant whether you witnessed a demonstration or were handed a leaflet or whether they tried to recruit you. or your colleagues or friends. What I gathered form the documentaries it seems GMHC met some scepticism in the gay community especially before 1983 when many were still in denial and cause and transmission of "gay cancer" were still uncertain.
There was a call for promiscous men to cool it downand stop having sex for a while.

My mother was a nurse her whole life, so I have the highest respect for people like you, not everybody can deal with sickness and tragedy.

We are all on Villiers2 lives - that's awesome!!! I am Wendelion or I think it's Wendelion178 on Instagram. Does anyone else what to share who they are on there?

There is someone who goes by PaulPrenter who is actually hilarious on there

I think Thor is saying that he and Lee don't want to share too many stories yet because the stories are going into the proposed book. Does this make sense? As in who will buy the book if they share all the stories before it gets published (I think?) which I can totally understand

By the way Thor - I'm not worried about my donation/refund. It's sweet that you and Lee take it so seriously but I want my donation to support you guys getting the photos/book published somehow/someway

I was really apprehensive about getting an Instagram account too Rainbows. I'm older and not great at computer stuff - but it was super easy.

Who says they're hesitant to share stories? We have nearly 2 years of fantastic stories and warm memories from Thor about Freddie in his two threads. Thank to Thor I can practically picture Freddie's NY apartmentand with all the fun atories hes shared on here I almost feel like i was there myself. I'd imagine their book will be an awesome collection all these they've shared here and more. Arent we lucky!

Good to see you here too from the live! I'd share my username but it's a private account of an old lady and I'm sure everyone would find it boring LOL!

It's taken me ages to read all the blog posts, both of them but its safe to say Thor has shared hundreds of great stories and memories with us between the two blogs.

Truly loads of information and pretty cool

The first blog had so many stories it could have made a book on it's own

Yes we are very lucky indeed

Hi Thor and Lee,

I have read this group for several days and I just want to thank you for your time and all the information. I very much hope your book will come out, I would definitely be interested in it. I'm glad Freddie had such good friends.

I have been a fan of Queen and especially Freddie for a long time, and I have to say that Bohemian Rhapsody movie has quite disappointed me, specifically how it treats his sexuality and gay relationships and friends. It seemed like a very superficial fairy tale too, even though the music was great.

I was very interested in your AIDS theme posts, what it was for you, what your experience of that time was. The history of HIV / AIDS is of great interest to me. I am very sorry for the friends you lost at the time.

Otherwise, I am happy to read your comments about Peter Freestone. I'm from the Czech Republic where he lives now. In the Czech Republic, by the way, there are many Queen fans, and BR movie has been a huge success here; it is the most visited film in the history of the Czech Republic (since 1993), so far it has seen 1 544 048 people (Czech Republic has 10 million inhabitants).

Just for the sake of interest, I'm sending a link to a Czech talk show, where Peter speaks Czech :-). Also, there're some your photos too, Thor and Lee (for example 3.25 in the video).

Sorry for my English.

Once again, thank you very much.

Your right the music was the best part of the movie hey should be ashamed for not exploring his life in more detail as far as relationships I pretty sure he had more than one and as far as the light flipping on and off why would they do thst. How do they know what he did if he did flip it on and of I bet there was a really nice looking guy there to help him.I believe it must have been a weight lifted off his shoulders embracing his new skin and getting rid of the old one .I know what being different is like I'm a really strange one I believe a person should love whoever they want I dont believe putting someone in a gay or straight category just do it love who you want.

Hi Killerqueenka...Welcome to Queenzone!

Your English is great...I could very easily understand you.

Thank you for the link to Peter's interview. I had watched it a long time ago, but it was fun listening to it again. I didn't understand any of it except for the names. I am quite impressed that Peter learned the Czech language as an adult. I tried to figure out what Peter and the host said to each other at the very beginning. It was obviously some kind of greeting, so I looked up Czech phrases. Did they say "Dobry Vecer". (good evening)? I couldn't put in the accent marks.

Every time I see Peter interviewed he is so friendly and relaxed. I really respect the work he has done for HIV/AID awareness over the years.
