Also Perk...I have always been able to "sniff-out" gay bars. I even found one on a 8 hour road trip (only about 1 hour apart, by car) from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in the U.A.E. I was just driving around the city, not knowing where I was even going and BOOM, there was a neighborhood where guys were hanging out and going into this bar (despite alcohol being forbidden for Muslims) I even met a nice and very cute Palestinian guy there. One day, I'll write a book...LOL

HAHAHAHA the only one I know of is Tribe....it's on, and I'm serious....CHURCH STREET....across the street from the HUSTLER store! This is a weird city I admit!

I have a bff that is like that with malls....she loves to shop! My Dad is that way with the worst parts of town. So that was fun on road trips growing up hoping we would find our way out without dying! lol. if you come here you have to let me tag along....they let women in all bars here and eye candy is fun....they also serve good portions of alcohol :) I'm not the biggest drinker in the world. I did some recreational party drugs in college but I feel like I'm too old for all those shenanigans. I still drink it's just rare as I feel like I have a hangover for like a year! I remember going to raves in Atlanta which was near my university and laughing at the old people. Karma sucks so yeah, no thanks. lol

This is a fun place to come but if you do let me know where you stay because some of the hotels are deceiving saying center of the city and they aren't at all! Also, you will have to have a car here we can't get our shit together to figure out public transport especially when you go through the "rich part" Belle Meade ( Al Gore lives there, unless Tipper took the house in the divorce.) In other words the $$$$ is insane. When you have all the money in a city and they want to put public transportation that goes through it you can imagine the uproar....$$$ = Power TRAFFIC IS HELL but for someone from Cali it might be nothing to you.

Perk,
You can pay for extra room, but although I do, to allow me to be in boarding group A the regular seats are roomie too. So no long waits trying to be in the first boarding group on Southwest. JetBlue has assigned seats and a guaranteed "boarding group A" if you purchase the "More Room" seats. No middle seats for this guy!. And no fight to find room in the overhead bins. I always travel carry-on so I don't know about luggage charges.

I would precaution those who expect "The Book" to be available next March. As in any industry, things do not always go according to plan. In addition, the US is near "full" employment, and it is difficult to find and retain qualified reliable people (high school diploma). Consequently, I suspect that this unnamed Publishing Company might be understaffed.

Last year, I bought a statistics book that should have been available before the end of 2018. I finally received my autographed copy of the book in late March.

Shit happens. Shit always happens, and I do not expect that "The Book" will be lucky enough to be published "on-time".

I hope I am wrong, but I won't lose any sleep if Thor and Lee's autographed book arrives on my doorstep a few months later than expected.

Well stated St. Jiub,
The S.N.A.F.U. phrase does hit us at times. Thanks for alerting the QZ folk.

yeah we aren't making plans I'm just curious I really want to come out there and visit Seattle I've never been and the only issue I have is room cause I'm a "bigger" girl and comfort so just picking Thor's brain since he's a frequent flier :)

Hey Perk,
Please don't worry, we would love to come to Nashville. I was there only once before, but I liked it a lot. I got a kick out of seeing that replica of the (undamaged by time) Parthenon you guys have there.
By the way, I always take JetBlue non-stops from San Diego to New York. I love this airline. Nice modern and roomie Airbus jets with individual TVs on each seat back. And a self service snack and beverage station. Beats waiting for the flight attendant to finish their rounds before getting you a Coke.

btw Thor that parthenon is still there but it's always under repair ha imagine that! did you see the replica of the Stature of Athena inside it? It's awesome....though anti-climactic I have to admit. Why were you here? Do you remember?

I need to google the show Queen did in Nashville in 79 I was surprised they would come here Nashville was like the stone ages back then. I am so curious where the concert was and how many went. If I find someone I will have to kill them due to jealousy. Freddie wore kick ass blue shorts and suspenders set in the pics which made me mad cause you know....not born yet.

okay the wonders of Google my friends....I googled Queen in Nashville 1979. Actually they came in November 22, 1978 and idk where the pics I saw were but Freddie had his black PVC "YMCA" outfit with red suspenders apparently and it was at this auditorium here that is still there but it's kind of a relic now that we have a nice Arena and an NFL football team...

Looks like Queen and Adam came here in 2017 and people in Nashville were craving some Freddie. I do know it had to have been sold out because they are coming here THIS AUGUST and I can't get tickets unless I wanna pay a small fortune. Like 500 dollars small ugh! I am not a person that does concerts the cheap way I rarely go so when I do, I make sure I'm close as possible.

The funniest thing about the concert here was it was 7 dollars in advance and 8 at the door. SERIOUSLY? You can't even buy a coke at the Bridgestone Arena for that. Again I didn't make it in 2017 but I do remember booking some of the more disorderly people into jail cause that's what I do......FUN!

Perk, I got your message I dont mind answering it on here.My disease was basically classified as a one time occurance caused by a reaction to a flu shot.A person has fatty coverings over their nerves and what is happening in my body is my immune system is attacking this covering leaving my nerves exposed and damaged. It is now chronic because they didnt find it in time to stop the damage to my nerves from my waist down.I take a treatment called Ivig therapy which replaces the bad antibodies my immune system makes and replaces with good ones.So the answer to your question its progressive and they cant do anything about it the treatment I get is the only approved treatment. Thanks for asking

wow is it similar to fibromyalgia? Or at least in how it feels? Lupus runs in my family but I am always getting tested for it to make sure I don't have it....so far so good....I'm so sorry Chevy I have to have a flu shot because I work at a jail around a bunch of um.....how do I put this.....not hygenic people....I make good money NOW and my job is easy, but it didn't used to be. I used to have to fingerprint and take mugshots of EVERYONE. Came with killer benefits and a retirement pension so now I'm old adulting person I have to worry about that stuff....... It seems super scary but you get used to it and I'm safer in here than on the streets in the USA because at least by the time they get here they have been THOROUGHLY searched....any way....sorry tangent....I'm so sorry...I recently had to get a Hepatitus A shot because it was going around the Southeast yay me~! We have to get a TB test once a year too.....Chevy did they figure out what you reacted to? I'm kinda freaked honestly, but I would rather have the shot than the flu cause the one time about 3 years ago I had it I just wanted to die....it was the most horrible I've ever felt and just when I thought I was over it, it would seem to come back.

I'm so sorry though about that, what a random thing. Is this something that happens often or were you just "special"?

Perk—You can find info on Queen concerts at queenlive.ca Queen did not tour NA in 1979. 1978 was the tour for Jazz and 1980 was for the game. I found a Nashville date in November 1978. There’s not very much information about this concert, just a few photos, but the venu is listed. Sorry I forgot the name!

In Toronto Church St. is the heart of the Gay Village, and when I grew up there the best known gay bar was the St. Charles Tavern. It’s gone now. Freddie might have gone there as it was close to where Queen played a few times.

Villiers—Thank you for the live today, that was great fun!

And for all who’ve heard the live—In one of the David Wigg interviews Freddie is talking about the famous “Freddie’s two lovers die” tabloid article and he says “One of them was not my lover”, clearly referring to John Murphy as everyone knows Tony Bastin was Freddie’s lover. I heard it on youtube. I think it was one of the 1987 interviews.

Yeah Galileo I found it too it was at the Municipal Auditorium. It was just "The Auditorium" back then. I found the setlist too and there were a couple of songs I don't think I've even ever heard. Yes I found a few very blurry and dark pics, the person who took them must have been a Deaky and Brian fan cause there are about 3 of them and maybe 3 or 4 of Freddie....That's what I was talking about. Queen+AL is coming THIS AUGUST and the tickets are super expensive. I found ticket stubs from back then and it cost a whopping 8 dollars and I think that auditorium only held maybe 6,000 people when now we have one that holes like 20,000, a little less during Pro Hockey games. We also have a state-of the-art NFL football stadium that holds a lot I have no clue how many....we've had the Titans here for like 10 years. Thor is right there is a life size replica of the Parthenon here, all of us natives forget it's there, Who needs Greece you can just come to Nashvegas baby! lol

Perk, if you want to, let us know the names of the songs from the set list that you haven’t heard. There are people on QZ who know every song ever performed by Queen.

Here's the only pic of Freddie I could find that was semi decent (I think I have an example of a horrible one and a good one) I may have them switched

Hi Thor and Lee,
Thanks for the heads-up, I was so happy to see that things are progressing with the book! Sorry I wasn't around here for a while - been very busy and not too well - but now I am back! And I am excited to see your interview, thank you so much for doing it! And thank you Villiers for organizing it!

Perk,They dont really know for sure they just said y gbs was more than likely caused by the fact I had a flu shot 3 weeks before my first onset symptom which was weakness and numbness in feet that moved up to my neck and went to my lungs I dont remember anything after that.I now have a chronic form of that disease called cidp. Its really rare you can Google it.Lupus is much easier to treat.

dear Perk, go where I sent you, queenlive.ca. there are links to some professional photos of Freddie there from this Nashville concert.

Dreamer’s Ball and If You Can’t Beat Them are album tracks from Jazz. Easy to find on your streaming service and if you don’t have one I think every Queen album track is on youtube.
