Give up the project?...no

Wish that the publishing pursuit would progress more quickly?...yes

Discouraged when only the vanity presses hounded me and the serious presses did not. Those that even bothered to reply however, still needed to be handled with kid gloves?...yes

Lose our drive?...no

Lose our eternal love and affection for Freddie?...NEVER

Oh, I NEVER doubted your love for Freddie. But this writing process has been so huge. I'm glad you are not ever discouraged. I can tell you that there were times when I thought we might lose you to the rough times. I couldn't be happier that I was wrong.

I am so happy to see this thread up and running, and to see you both here! Fingers crossed that you find your publisher!

(I've been listening to Made in Heaven album a lot, always remembering your story, Thor, about I Was Born To Love You, and how you heard it for the first time. Love this song very much)

Hey Lee! It's good to see you boys back online. You didn't miss much but a bunch of tired slandering attempts by 2 guys out to tear the book down and your reputations. Unfortunately we seemed to have lost our friend villers due to the drama kicked up by trolls. They zeroed in on her for standing up for you guys. Maybe Dustin as well?

That or he stopped commenting but still reads.

I hear you guys are very close to completing the book! This must be exhausting for you two. I didn't realize how much work it takes to get a book published. Gives you a new found respect for authors doesn't it!

You said it Squirelly,
But the book is finished and I sent it out today. The lady said she was "intrigued" by the samples I sent her.Now she has the full manuscript and formal proposal, both perfected over the last week. Our fingers are crossed.

We know it will be picked up sooner or later. If this publisher is smart she'll lock you guys in! Just be sure to remember your number one fans when you get on the best sellers list! Best of luck boys

Good to see Lee make an appearance!! I'll be anxious to hear what this publisher thinks now that you have sent the book out. I'll also be eager to hear your opinion of the film. I'm afraid I'm not going to get to go until it's been out for a few days. I won't mind spoilers though so I hope you'll all comment!

Oh, don't worry, I will tell you guys everything without giving away anything that is surprising. I certainly won't be able to critique the portrayal of Freddie prior to 1980, but I will be able to see if post-1980 up until 1991 is truthfully accounted for. It will be interesting to say the least!
I suspect there will be a lot of Mary in the movie and rightfully so. When Freddie was in London, Mary either lived next to him or actually with him. He valued and trusted her completely. What will be interesting is if they portray Mary as a very special friend (who knew Freddie was gay) or if they try to stir up straight or bisexual longings of Freddie which some fans still believe, even post their break-up.as a couple. Hey, I had girlfriends from 7th until 11th grade, but I knew who I really was behind this "attempt" at covering-up.for convenience of going to school hassle-free.

I don't want to stir any pots here, but how many have heard Peter Freestone speak on about the movie? He makes such an important distinction and I wish everyone could hear and understand what he is saying. There will be inconsistencies, questionable timelines, etc, but he says it is so important to remember that this is a film meant for entertainment, it is not a documentary. I'm delighted that so many new people will be introduced to Freddie and Queen. They won't notice problems that die hard fans will see, but they will enjoy the movie and I'm happy for anything that keeps Freddie's legacy alive. I hope desperately that people will just enjoy this film and avoid nitpicking it to pieces.

I think I was moved to write this post because I've just come from FB where people are arguing bitterly over timeline.

Going back to my quiet corner now...………….

My biggest hope for the movie is that neither John and Roger are portrayed as bit players, while Brian is portrayed as the other genius of Queen.

By the way, Lee reminded me just yesterday that Freddie had told him more than once, "Kathleen, make these photos WORK for you!"
This was said for one last time when he escorted Lee around his beloved garden in June of 1991.
So it seems clear that Lee had/has his permission. Lee hated and was so let down by recently reading the eight page trollathon.
Now, however, he agrees with our renewed "ignore" policy when dealing with trolls on both QZ and FB.

As my beloved mother used to always say, despite of her worsening Parkinson's Disease over 10 years, "Better Days are Coming."

Yeah right and Freddie had nothing better to do in June 1991 than telling you to publish a book with private pictures. How dumb do you chaps think we are??? And for "Not being Freddie's lover" you had a lot of indiscreet things about him to say in "Freddie's Loves" right? Remember that "he could not get it up" statement ? Give it up man.......it is getting far beyond embarrasing....
Same stupid statements like "Paul Rodgers was Freddie's fave singer" and "Freddie would have Loved Lambert": Pathetic. And why are all critics "trolls"? Because they refuse asskissing someone making money with private stuff from a so-called "dear friend"???

Hi Thor and Lee,

You mentioned last year that you had Queen merchandise that Freddie had given you back in the early 80's. I am assuming you meant tour t-shirts. Did you keep any of those shirts? If so, are you wearing one to movie premiere or is that too "uncool" to do? I have a few Queen and Freddie shirts...and I am definitely NOT very cool...so I will proudly wear one when I see the film. :)
