I like Calling All Girls, and have never seen it as an embarrassment to the band like Staying Power.

speaking about staying power, did you hear this cover?

Oh yeah. I was at that gig. Posted about it here on that night. On another version i can be heard suggesting the song COOL CAT when they were announcing a song nobody would likely know. Haha.

I'm just glad they film these things. Tried recording from phone but my phone truly sucks.

Always love those SOUNDCHECK gigs and most gigs they do there are pretty pro.

If only one didn't have to work ;)

Btw Tom Morello's doing one there this weekend. Some music student thing.

I'm pretty sure this thing with Nuno and Gary was in between QAL gigs and Brian was in the back of the crowd. The night they did BoRhap with a motion choir onstage.

Brian was hopefulto play TYMD but did not.

Bump?

Cool Cat is a fantastic song. I would not put it on a worst songs list.

And after all you still don't like "staying power"? :) i thought that night could change your opinion :)

Rain Must Fall is the best on that list, and it's a song I really enjoy listening to even though it is a bit dated these days. It's got a nice, upbeat feel with some lovely synth work and production. I also love Brian's guitars on the song too, particularly the solo.

If I had to choose another song off that list it would be Calling All Girls, a decent song from a fairly average (by their standards) Queen album.

I tried to vote for Cool Cat, but there was one fewer radio button than songs, so I think my vote went to Calling All Girls.

And I don’t think Cool Cat belongs on the list. Of the rest, I’d pick Delilah. Not a song I get up in the morning and think hey why don’t I listen to Delilah, but I never skip it either.

Agree about Delilah. I do occasionally listen to it for the scary 'MEOWWW' bit. Classic Queen.

I honestly can't understand how anyone can hear ANY redeeming qualities in Cool Cat. I hear NOTHING that is REMOTELY listenable in that piece of crap.

I voted Calling All Girls. Not a good song, but not nearly as bad as the other crimes against music listed, except perhaps Fun It.

Calling All Girls is so bland. So forgettable.

Rain Must Fall. But I voted for Delilah because I think that Rain Must Fall isn't a part of their worst songs.
And I like Delilah :)

I wonder if anybody got the THX reference in CALLING ALL GIRLS. I don't think outside of media students at the time, it had much impact or notoriety.

Whose idea was it? It's not mentioned in the Greatest Flix commentaries

A H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society cover of Calling All Girls would be great, I feel this song works better in a darker key.
In fact a whole Scary Queen album would be interesting and fun.

"Ludo Fore Putavimus". Can you translate for us thomasquinn?

For me the worst from that list are: Delilah, My baby Does Me, Fun it.

And I wonder why the TS doesn't mention such shitgems like Sleepin on a Sidewalk, Comin Soon or Lost Opportunity

IMHO, SOaS and CS are much more teddious and overall lousy than even Delilah
